Version 4 of my online portfolio done between May and June. Developed in Flash with bits in HTML and XML, in two languages, with a more professional and clean design, always maintaining the sketchy hand-rendered feel, that would allow me to get jobs easier.

After collaborating in the Eve & the Fire Horse website, I was contacted by Vivian Wu’s recently founded film production company to see if I could make a website for their first feature film, Shanghai Red. The challenge of this project was working in the website for a movie that I hadn’t seen. I was given the movie script, and had read it to give me a basic idea of what the movie was about. However, the only visual aid I had was the stills from the movie and the trailer.
Working independently in this project was a huge challenge for me because I was in charge of everything that was going on, from contacting the client and making sure they were satisfied with the progress of the website, to developing the code and designing the look for it. Because of the constant contact that I had with Vivian herself, I managed to finish the website in about one week and half, giving me time to work on my next project with them.
Visit Shanghai Red.

This Demo Reel (which you can check out with this long link) was made on November 2005 as part of my promotional package. It all started out as an experiment with texture and fun!
The idea behind it is to show me as I can only be - what you see is what you get. I like to have FUN with my work, it’s all about the passion. Each and every piece that you will see here was done out of my passion for each project.
Some of the pieces that you can see in this Demo Reel are the Award Bumper, Nayeli - an animation pitch/trailer, a made-up commercial for Skyttles, a pitch for The Tree of Life, Harmony: The Quest For Companionship, several photographs, drawings, websites, including the Canadian Film release of Eve & The Fire Horse, which will be later release in 2006.
Besides from loving to work with motion graphics, websites and taking pictures, I enjoy drawing and, most of all, writing. I haven’t written anything professionally, however, in the past 2 years I have finished two 100-pages stories (one in English, and another in Spanish), one paper of 21 pages on Numerology, two one-shot stories and two film scripts for Backbone Medley and Harmony.

This is the third version of my portfolio, done on December 2005 as part of my promotional package. It was developed in Flash, with bits in XML and PHP. For me, it was an incredibly hard, but rewarding experience to start experimenting with XML and Flash, since it was the actual first time of my combining both.
The concept of the website was basically something that was really hand-rendered, and gave you a slight idea of the type of work I enjoy doing, as well as giving you an idea of my personality. Something like… I doodle, I draw, I write a lot, and here it is for you to see! It sort of lets you show people your actual sketchbook, with your scribbled ideas and little doodles when you are bored.

I was contacted not long ago by producer Yves Ma on behalf of Golden Horse Productions, to develop a simple website for the Canadian-HongKong production of Eve & the Fire Horse written and directed by filmmaker Julia Kwan, and starring Vivian Wu (The Last Emperor, Joy Luck Club, The Pillow Book). I was the producer of the website, and put together a team of 5 people (including myself) to develop this project in around a week.
The team, composed by Jung-Kit Chan, Maggie Hui, Nathan Chow, Irene Jung and me. We worked hard to put all the material together, while I was also in constant communication with the producers, as well as being the Technical Lead for the project. I also contributed visually.
During the time we were working on the project, we also worked in a few new posters for the movie, which unfortunatelly didn’t make the cut.
