Thousand Origami 2009 Holiday Greeting

Thousand Origami Crane 2009 Greeting

So ‘Tis the season again~~ Happy Holidays, everyone!

This year I’ve made the Thousand Origami Cranes, or Zenba Tsuru… because, well~ I didn’t know what to get my dad as a gift, so I thought… I’ll get him a wish! And he’s a fan of origami cranes~~ so! there you go!

At first I thought it was only 100, but then figured out it was 1000… sighs.

From Wikipedia:
An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury. The crane in Japan is one of the mystical or holy beasts (others include the dragon and tortoise), and is said to live for a thousand years.

So this is my wish for everyone… long life, free of illness and a lot of good wishes~~
